Research
Up until not too long ago, I was a research assistant at the Data mining laboratory at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology working under Dr KG Srinivasa.
My main research interests are in the areas of Pattern Recognition and Machine learning with Artificial Intelligence. I am interested in optimizing genetic algorithms. GAs are excellent tools to optimize a given function and find the most optimal value given any number of constraints. They however, tend to totter around a local maxima, which is an almost-optimal solution for the problem. The GA takes a considerably longer time to reach the global optima -- the desired solution -- than it does to reach the local maxima. I am interested in different solution techniques that will alleviate this problem in any GA. I am particularly interested in techniques that utilize multiple populations in order to reach the global optima.
Anuj and I have also worked on a genomic sequence storage and retreival system with error recovery.Current list of publications
